Crystal Shawanda honored with Juno Award nomination.

Award-winning country music singer / songwriter Crystal Shawanda has been nominated for “Aboriginal Album of the Year” at the 2013 Juno Awards held in Regina, SK, Canada on Sunday, April 21, 2013. The Juno Award for “Aboriginal Album of the Year” is an annual award presented by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for the best album by a Canadian aboriginal person.

“It’s so exciting to be a part of Canada’s biggest night in music! I’m honored to be in the company of so many talented artists,” says Shawanda. This is Shawanda’s third Juno nomination.

Prior to attending the Juno Awards, Shawanda will perform at the Nike N7 Sports Summit at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon tonight. Nike N7 is Nike’s commitment to bring sport and all of its benefits to Native American and Aboriginal communities in the USA and Canada.

Says Shawanda: “I’m so honored to be a Nike N7 board member. It’s been amazing to watch it evolve over the past 5 years! Nike N7 has become a full-fledged line, now carried in select Foot Locker stores, across Canada and the US. Our latest shoe, the KD V N7, from the 2013 line, inspired by NBA star Kevin Durant, sold out in less than 24 hours! This is the 2nd sport summit, held at the Nike World Headquarters in Oregon and is the next step beyond all the successful N7 funded programs.”
